LSG welcomes Jay McCarthy as Senior Vice President

LIBERTY SQUARE GROUP WELCOMES JAY McCARTHY AS NEW SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FOR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT RELATIONS

BOSTON – The Liberty Square Group is pleased to announce the addition of Jay McCarthy as its new Senior Vice President for Federal Government Relations. Mr. McCarthy was senior advisor to the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA) and most recently for Senator Paul G. Kirk, Jr. Mr. McCarthy will be heading Liberty Square Group’s Washington D.C. office, bringing with him over 13 years of experience advising and assisting United States senators. Mr. McCarthy joins the Liberty Square Group’s D.C. office, and will be providing strategic guidance, policy and appropriations assistance to a wide variety of clients.

Prior to his time with Senator Kirk, Mr. McCarthy fulfilled several roles for the late Senator Kennedy over more than seven years. During this time he served two years as a senior advisor and two years as the Senator’s political director, a position through which he assisted with Senator Kennedy’s 2006 re-election. 

Prior to joining Senator Kennedy's staff, Mr. McCarthy served for more than two years as director of economic development for Senator Charles E. Schumer (D-NY), and as the lead Schumer staffer on efforts to secure federal resources for the reconstruction and renewal of New York City in the aftermath of 9/11. He began his career in the office of Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY).
