David Driscoll is the new senior vice president for government relations and education initiatives at the Liberty Square Group.
He has a long education career in Massachusetts, most recently as commissioner of education. Starting out as a high school math teacher, he rose to assistant superintendent in Melrose, then superintendent.
He was appointed Massachusetts deputy commissioner of education in 1993, then interim and, later, permanent commissioner.
