Conor Yunits

As Senior Vice President for Communications and Public Affairs, Conor Yunits assists a variety of clients in delivering their message to the public or decision maker.  Prior to joining Liberty Square Group, Mr. Yunits founded and ran MassBeacon.com, a multi-media website covering Massachusetts politics.

Mr. Yunits brings a range of experience in traditional and social media to LSG.  Over the past year, Mr. Yunits founded and authored two-well read Massachusetts political blogs, kennedyseat.com and MassBeacon.com, and created a political podcast, The Sacred Codcast, that became a key interview for leaders on Beacon Hill.

In just four months, kennedyseat.com became a must-read site for anyone interested in the U.S. Senate race to replace Senator Ted Kennedy.  It was hailed as “a new model for election blogging” by the Washington Examiner, profiled by WBUR and WGBH’s “Greater Boston with Emily Rooney,” and praised by The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald, The Washington Post, and the Hartford Courant.

MassBeacon.com expanded the kennedyseat.com efforts to the full spectrum of Massachusetts politics.  With more than 2,500 weekly readers, it has become the first morning read of hundreds of political insiders, elected officials, candidates, and staffers in and around Beacon Hill.  The Sacred Codcast, the MassBeacon.com podcast, now has more than 1,000 subscribers, and has featured interviews with candidates for Governor, Lt. Governor, Congress, Auditor, Treasurer, State Senate and State Representative.

Mr. Yunits also has a strong background working with traditional media.  For four years he served as director of communications for the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, crafting media strategies, building relationships with reporters, writing speeches and op-eds and creating partnerships with radio and TV stations.  Mr. Yunits has been featured as a political analyst on WBUR, Boston’s NPR station, and led scheduling and research for “This Week in Business,” a weekly television show on NECN co-produced by the Chamber.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Mr. Yunits worked as a legislative aide on Beacon Hill, worked on a number of state and local political campaigns and was a junior staffer at a Capitol Hill boutique consulting firm.  He is a graduate of The George Washington University and earned a Master of Science in Public Affairs from the McCormack School of Policy Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
